Sedation Dentistry in Austin TX
We are pleased to offer our patients comfortable, safe, and effective sedation dentistry, as safety is our main concern. Currently, we offer Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and mild conscious sedation.
Please consider sedation dentistry if you have:
- A fear or anxiety visiting the dentist
- Difficulty sitting still for long periods of time
- Trouble getting numb or staying numb with traditional methods
Which method is right for me?
Nitrous oxide
It is inhaled during your dental procedure. It can be adjusted throughout treatment to keep you at a comfortable level of sedation. You are awake and aware of what is happening but feel very relaxed and less anxiety. You’re also able to drive home after!
Mild Sedation
Oral sedation is best suited for patients with more severe anxiety, undertaking a long procedure, or have more complex situations. You remain awake or very sleepy throughout the entire procedure, are able to breathe on your own, and feel a great sense of relaxation. Patients typically recover from anxiolysis sedation a few hours after the procedure is complete. A driver is necessary for the ride home.

TRU Dentistry provided such a wonderful experience for me! I was nervous about coming, because I haven’t been to the dentist in longer than I’d like to admit. But from the moment I walked in I felt taken care of.
Gabby was AMAZING! She immediately chatted with me and made me feel so comfortable there (and I never thought I would put “comfortable” and “dentist” in the same sentence!) She went above and beyond- truly excellent customer service!
Dr. Nguyen was gentle and explained everything in a way I understood, which eased any anxiety I had coming in. She also explained that if I am nervous when I come back for my tooth procedure, they will make sure to address that.
Overall this was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be continuing to visit TRU for my dentistry needs!

This was my first time here and all I can say are great things. The office itself is beautiful and very clean! David did an amazing job taking me back and doing my x-rays he was very patient and kind. The hygienist Reef did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and made sure I was comfortable and shared great advice for preventive care. And Dr. Nguyen was sweet and explained a lot of preventative care as well as suggestions that would help me in the long run taking care of my teeth. At the end Gabby the receptionist explained my treatment plan and recommended things I could do to keep my smile looking great. This team did a great job and I will be definitely recommend all my friends and family to come here to get work done. Very satisfied with this office and the location is great with tons of parking
